2006-2007 Leader Awards

NAMA has named the organization's national leadership award recipients.
Awards were presented at the Second General Session, April 12 in Dallas.

President's Award

Tom Taylor, High Plains Journal

The Presidents Award is given to an individual who most closely supports the president’s agenda. This award is presented to Tom Taylor with High Plains Journal. Tom has served on the NAMA Executive Committee and is a past NAMA president. During his presidency, Tom started the initiative that resulted in NAMA’s current marketing plan. He continues to be involved in NAMA through the ABEF.
R.C. Ferguson Award

Mike Gustafson, John Deere
 This award is given to an individual who’s efforts stretch over the course of several years. Mike has not only been a committee chair, executive committee member and past NAMA president but he also actively involved in the ABEF and the student careers program.
 

Dilworth Award for Innovation

Scott Whitman, AgriLife Studios/MWI Comm. Group
Dilworth Award for Innovation is awarded to the individual who shows true originality in volunteer efforts. This award is presented to Scott Whitman with AgriLife Studios/MWI Comm. Group. Scott was instrumental in organizing last year’s chapter leader’s workshop which provided an interactive, creative environment for chapter leaders to hear new ideas.
Workhorse of the Year

Sharon Larson, Martin/Williams (2007 Boot Camp Committee Chair/North Central NAMA)
Sharon Larson has served on the Best of NAMA committee and she is currently serving as chair for the 2007 Boot Camp to be held in Kansas City in August and has served in numerous ways in their chapter.
Outstanding Chair

Barry Nelson, John Deere (Agri-Marketing Conference Committee Chair/MoKan NAMA)
Barry Nelson served as chair for this year’s Agri-Marketing Conference and he and the conference committee which happened to be on of the largest committees every, kept the big thinking going in planning the line up of speakers and activities.
Meritorious Achievement

The NAMA Executive Committee presented four meritorious achievement awards to individuals and chapters who have exhibited dedication, service and commitment to NAMA during the year.

Colleen Gerke, John Deere (MoKan NAMA)
Colleen Gerke was the chair of the 2006 Boot Camp Committee. Colleen and her committee put together an exciting program that drew over 80 attendees.

Melissa Sanders, AdFarm (MoKan NAMA)
Melissa Sanders is a regional director for Region II. She spearheaded the planning of the Region II Best of NAMA banquet held at Harrah's VooDoo lounge in January in Kansas City. She also heads up the marketing competition for the national careers committee, a position she’s been involved with for several years.

Kelly Loganbill, AdFarm (MoKan NAMA)
Kelly Loganbill was responsible for organizing the MoKan Ag Tour held in conjunction with the NAMA Boot Camp in August. The tour had over 40 attendees and was rated as one of the highest features of the boot camp. Kelly also served on the planning committee for this year’s conference.

Dawn Foster, Farm Credit Services of America (Cornbelt NAMA)
Dawn served as president of the CornBelt chapter over the last year and is responsible for several successful meetings and a revitalization of the chapter, most notably was the pie and ice cream break hosted by the chapter at the Farm Progress Show.
