WHY IS THAT LITTLE "TM" SO IMPORTANT TO YOUR BUSINESS?
Hosted by Iowa NAMA

Doug Reynolds, 2003 Field to Food Run Chair, gives Marilyn Adams & David Hansen of Farm Safety 4 Just Kids a check for $2,038. Adams is the spokesperson, founder & president of FS4JK. Hansen is the executive director for the organization.

The September meeting of the Iowa NAMA Chapter was held on September 16th at the Johnston Public Library. An excellent lunch was followed by a welcome from President David Thompson.

Proceeds raised from the 2003 Field To Food Run held in June were presented to the Iowa FFA Foundation and Farm Safety 4 Just Kids. Representatives accepting on behalf of these organizations were Wayne Nattress with the Iowa FFA Foundation and Marilyn Adams, David Hansen and Mindy Williamson from Farm Safety 4 Just Kids. Each group received approximately $2,000 dollars each and the recipients were very thankful for the donations from the Iowa NAMA Chapter.

The keynote address was presented by Brian Laurenzo, Head of Intellectual Property Law for Dorsey & Whitney LLP. Brian addressed the group on many issues relating to Trademarks - definitions, types, selection, clearance, registration procedures, prosecution, enforcement and other topics relating to intellectual property rights. Brian's extensive experience advising clients in the agriculture industry allowed him to add insight on agriculture brands and trademark issues within the ag industry.

The September meeting was an excellent kickoff to this year's events for the Iowa NAMA Chapter!
