| NAMA on Campus Two Professional Awards Debut in 2001 Two Professional
Awards Debut in 2001 "While the Outstanding Professional Award was announced in August, the Outstanding Professional Chapter Award is a new opportunity for students," says Shannon Latham, Awards chairperson for the NAMA Careers Committee. "Some chapters do an excellent job of working with developing young professionals. This award is a great opportunity to recognize them for their efforts, as well as inspire others to offer more assistance to their student chapters." Nomination forms for the two new awards are easy to complete and should be included in your annual report. Please use two separate forms: one for the outstanding individual and one for the outstanding professional chapter. Both nominations should include the nominees names, a description of how they were involved in student chapter activities and why they should receive the award. "The NAMA Careers committee is challenging each student chapter to nominate at least one Outstanding Professional or one Outstanding Professional Chapter," says Latham. "Even if they dont win, a nomination lets the professionals know how much you appreciate their help. It will mean a lot to them just to know that students cared enough to nominate them." Nominees for the "Outstanding Professional" and the "Outstanding Professional Chapter" Awards will be honored at the 2001 Agri-Marketing Conference & Trade Show, April 11-13, in Denver, Colo. In addition to being recognized during the Student Awards Program beginning at 5 p.m. on April 12, the award recipients will be recognized April 11 during the Best of NAMA Awards Ceremony. For additional information about how to complete the award applications or how the recipients will be honored, contact Penny Ramsey in the national office at (913) 491-6500.
